  • Oprah’s first tweet was in all caps…a major no no in the twitterverse (one word in caps is bad enough), but the already hip to Twitter, and ever concise, Shaq felt no shame with his instructive and comical response. Love it!

  • BREAKING: Twitter Wingman

    From Wired:

“When it’s launched in June 2009 (probably against the new iPhone) the Wingman will feature the following:

    • A $30 - 40 price tag with a two-year contract on Boost Mobile
    • 5-megapixel camera with xenon flash and Carl Zeiss lens
    • Integrated GPS with real time maps that allow you to locate other Wingmen in the area.
    • Bluetooth data transfers between Wingmen.
    • Dedicated hot keys for sending direct tweets, picking up new followers, and retweeting.
    • Aggregation for sorting twitters from celebs, direct messaging friends, plus dedicated news and gossip tweet feeds.
    • Some of the biggest twitterati like Shaquille O’Neil, John Mayer, and Ashton Kutcher are already beta testing this device. “

Hopefully you noticed the pager in the video ;) - AFD ‘09

  • Ironically my 6,000th update on Twitter is very similar to my first (and it was totally unplanned) - burritos are a huge part of my life. ;)

  • PTI, one of my favorite (albeit self-indulgent) daily sports talk shows is FINALLY on Twitter after trashing us tweeters for months now. There must have been alot of peer pressure from show producers and savvier althetes who actually do get that Twitter is a powerful communication medium.

  • To make us old men realize how out of touch we really are, we have the daughter of the nominee of our party, John McCain, telling the world WE are what’s wrong with the Republican Party. I like and respect John McCain. I was one of the few in New York City who voted for him. Meghan McCain, the young lady who could have been first daughter, put her silver spike heels into her mouth one more time by saying the party needs to be open to girls who love sex. This was the same 23-year-old who was complaining a few weeks ago that she can’t find anyone to date because she doesn’t like any Republican who voted for her father and couldn’t date anyone who voted for Obama. She has attacked Palin, Rove, Limbaugh and Cheney — obviously a Trojan horse for the president’s team She appeared on the Colbert Report this past Monday describing herself as a pro-sex Republican and a pro-sex woman. She went on to say the only way Republicans will win the youth vote is by being open-minded on social issues or by learning to use Twitter. I’ve struggled for many years in the Republican Party, and they with me, but if I have to learn to Twitter, I’ll quit and become an independent like my friend Lou Dobbs. I assume Meghan McCain is just sitting around with nothing to do while waiting to inherit her mother’s beer business or her father’s Senate seat.

Some interesting commentary from Ed Rollins on Meghan McCain, the Rebuplican Party, and Twitter.

  • Biz Stone goes on the Colbert Report to talk all things Twitter. Interesting exchange to say the least.

  • A clever commenter on the Mashable piece I wrote re:Jennifer & John’s Twitter-inspired break up, left a link to this cartoon depiction. I find it fantastic.

  • Sure the video pokes fun at all of us who are Twitter obsessed (& you’ve probably already seen it), but there are moments that are utterly hilarious and priceless. OH: “it seems like twittering is just randomly bragging about your unexceptional life.” Very nice!

  • Angie’s trying to win a trip to SXSW from BlogWorld (cause they’re giving away a free pass). So watch her belt out a hilarious rendition of an Alicia Keys song with a few lyrical twists that most of us can identify with.

Her blog post on the matter certainly convinces me that she’s worthy of the free pass, but then again she is my best friend.
